my mota getting built has r5 plates rx5 housings 6port high comp rotors carbon tips lightned/balanced s5 oil pump 12 pound flyweel and im using a 48m ida i will fork out decent coin on exhaust to get max power. i what a waste of R5 plates s5 oil pump wont be compatible with old school plates if you want to get 300hp out of a NA 13b pp your going to have to try and squeeze every little bit of available power from the entire set up, -best pp configuration(d port/port timing/size of sleeves 48-51mm) -carb mods, bored 51mm,46mm chokes, 3mm needle & seat and all jetted to suit -will need a good tuned length/port matched intake and exhaust system -ignition system/timing (multiple spark discharge) -fuel system(3/8 lines, carter/Malory pump, malpassi reg etc) and the list goes on. all of the above will get you that little bit closer to the hp you want, hope you got lots of money but definitely someone that can tune the set up to achieve the optimun horse power you desire. GOOD LUCK BRO

kp04 wrote: sweetaz seems like such a drama i wont cheap out on the main bits if i can help it everything's a drama when u want 300hp ATW... its not exactly a small ask from an NA motor... well, a RELIABLE 300hp. the best thing (or one of the best things ) that you could do, is go injection. that will be the easiest form of extracting the power if the motor is built/ported properly. can i ask why u want a PP anyway? the money that its going to set you back, theres plenty of other options around that will get u the 300 easier for the same money and have way more potential.. then theres the niose factor ( which lets face it, is now an issue )...

i was realy aiming for carburation and be able to acheive the 300 just out of that, something basic and side of road fix that i want, i will be racing it aswell and want to be able to afford the bits n peices. as much as id like a big turbo i could just see myself pooring more and more money on power.

Get a 62mm terminator 2 carb! I'm looking at doing this at some stage for a big hp PP build down the track. http://www.geersengineering.com/Carb_Parts.htm1100 US so not a bad price I guess. People are claiming BIG numbers (350hp+) using these with relatively simple setups (no isotropic finishing, billet rotors and all that shit).

you can make that sort of power with a 48ida on a pp no worries, the greens did for me.....and its reliable as when i 1st had my pp built by greens we put 48 on made 222kw at the wheels, after a season we turned it into 51 and made 225kw (with different diff ratio), but i could can definatly feel it when i was driving , pulled way harded from 8 onwards, was like another powerband with the 51.......you can make that kinda powr with 48, just have to get the right people to do it 13b turbo block new housings 2mm racing beat carbons ports are under 45mm s4 6port rotas lightened 51mm ida struggled to get any more out of last time on dyno, thinking port a the restricting factor now, need bigger

yeah well thats a good point, i always hear anything under 45mm is going to be the best for power and reliability, as per the factory 44mm mazda bought out, but im open to all configurations, its never going to be the best motor if its not done by the best.
dirty carbys r the way to go tho i reckon....... injections cheating for n/a haha

Fukn amen to that!
Btw emailed that dude (Shawn) from geers engineering and he said it'd cost 1300US for one of his complete carb kits (carb, velocity stacks etc) delivered to NZ.
